80% of participants said it helped them feel part of a community. Positive references to team spirit, encouragement, and being inspired by others.
“I loved being motivated to surf almost every day, despite the conditions or how I was feeling. And I also loved seeing the results and my hours getting tracked and achieving my goals.”
Alana (Participant)

70% were driven by the motivation to surf more. Surfing was consistently cited as the most enjoyable aspect — participants surfed more, longer, and felt better mentally and physically as a result.
ABOUT THE CAUSE
SURF MORE
An estimated 22% of Australians experience a mental disorder each year (AIHW, 2024). Our 30 DAY/22-hour surf goal is a simple way to spark awareness, inspire action, and champion a lifestyle that supports better mental health and wellbeing.
A perfect reason to SURF MORE.

FEEL GOOD
Only about 1% of federal funding goes to prevention, so what we do in our community truly matters. The science is clear- surfing lifts your mood, reduces stress, and builds resilience through movement, nature, and connection.
A simple way to FEEL GOOD.

MAKE AN IMPACT
Your contribution helps keep REWC alive and supports mental-health initiatives across Australia. And the impact isn’t just there - completing the challenge strengthens your own wellbeing, improving mood, confidence, and connection while creating a positive ripple effect in your life and your community.
A powerful way to MAKE AN IMPACT.

Surfing gave me strength, peace, and a sense of connection. The challenge reminded me how powerful the ocean and community can be for mental health.” — REWC participant feedback
