Our challenge isn't limited to surfing. We want to see more Australians enjoying green and blue spaces to improve their mental wellbeing and raise awareness. At REWC, we welcome you to build your own challenge - no matter the scale - and make an impact. You can take on your own challenge, get a group together, and raise funds for our cause. 

I'd love to give it a go! What kind of fundraiser challenge should I create?

If surfing isn't an option, set a personal goal for the number of hours you will spend in blue (lakes, rivers, the sea) or green (parks, forests) spaces during the month of April. 

The restorative benefits are well-documented; improved mood, reduced anxiety, and better overall mental health. A new study highlights that spending time near blue spaces can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, while another study found that even a few minutes outside can improve mood and cognitive function.

Challenge ideas:

22 hours in green spaces (cycling, walking, jogging, etc.)
22 hours in blue spaces (swimming, beach walks, kayaking, etc.)
22 hours of meditation, mindfulness practices, or yoga. 
22 hours of exercise (however you do it!)
